In January 2013, following several harsh semesters of Musical Theatre and Elementary Education, I took a chance and experimented with a brand new program at FSCJ, Converged Communications. Though I didn’t really know what Converged Communications meant, after one week of classes and an introduction to blogging for businesses, I didn’t care! 3 IMPORTANT THINGS:Exciting things are happening, everyone! This week I am finalizing my statement of purpose to send to Florida State University. My letter goes into detail about why I want to continue my education in the Integrated Marketing Communication program, and how my undergraduate work shows that I will be successful if accepted! In order to set myself apart from the other applicants, I worked with a wonderfully talented and dear friend (and the sweet Faith Kinman) and made this video to send to the admissions committee. The video is a visual representation of the content in my statement of purpose, and my intent was for it to be short, sweet, and full of Seminole spirit! 😉 If it is God’s will for me to study at FSU, it will happen, and if not-this has been a really fun journey anyways! 🙂 A big HUG and even bigger THANKS to everyone who has been so supportive and encouraging throughout this entire graduate school process: FSCJ’s phenomenal Rawlslyn Francis, my wonderful #ConComms cohort Jennifer Ray Miles, all the staff at Downtown Vision, Inc. and of course my sweet friends Holly, Lorin, Cristina, Kathryn, and Susan at the Florida Theatre.

“This year, over 1,000 artists, performers, and entertainers used our stage to tell their story. This year, we were able to use your support to continue to tell ours.” This year, the opportunity to intern at the Florida Theatre in the heart of downtown Jacksonville has been an incredible chapter in my story.
“You are always so happy! Why are you always so happy?” Susan Beddingfield, the Accounting Assistant for the Florida Theatre, said this to me a few days ago and at the time I just smiled in reply. Today, while making an outline for my first internship report for the summer of 2014, I realized that one of the reasons I am so happy is because this Converged Communications internship could not have been more perfect.
